The 5th NPS Exhibition

2. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

  • NPS members can take part in the 1st and the 2nd blocks of the exhibition.

  • Professional artists from Russia and other countries can take part in the 2nd block of the exhibition.

  • Age of participants must be over 18. 

  • Judges and their relatives cannot compete for prizes, but they can show their artwork non-competitively.

3. PRIZE FUND

The prizes are provided by the sponsors of the exhibition.

The Jury is made up of professional artists. Jury members cannot take part in the contest.

Block 1 – Aleksei Nikolaevich Vitkovsky 
PhD in Pedagogy, associate professor, member of the Russian Association of Artists (Graphic Arts Section), corresponding member of the IAAE (the International Association of Art Education) and the ITTAF (the International Teacher’s Training Academy of Science), Head of the Department of Drawing of the faculty of Fine Arts and Folk Crafts of the Moscow State Regional University.

Block 2 – Anastasia Koroleva
PhD in Art History, senior scholar at the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts, associate professor of the faculty of Art History of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.

 

5. FEE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SELECTION FOR THE EXHIBITION

  • For NPS members the fee is 1000 RUB for the first painting and 300 RUB for each successive painting. 

  • For non-members the fee is 1500 RUB for the first painting and 500 RUB for each successive painting. 

  • Every artist is free to submit for review up to 5 paintings. 

  • The participation fee must be paid no later than 25.10.2020. The fees for the artworks not selected for the exhibition will not be paid back.

7. ARTWORK REQUIMENTS 

Please make sure your painting meets the following requirements:

 

  • Artwork must be created with soft pastels (chalk pastel). Presence of other material must be no more than 20%. 

  • Artwork created with oil pastels are not allowed to participate.

  • Paintings must be original. It is prohibited to copy artwork, photographs and published materials made by other people. Paintings created with a teacher, at a workshop or with the help of on-line demos or tutorials are not allowed to participate. Paintings based on photographs and reference materials not belonging to the artist are not allowed to participate

  • Every participant must guarantee, that his or her painting does not infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties. In case of a claim from third parties the participant takes full responsibility for his artwork. In case of conflict situations the painting is removed from participation in the exhibition and is deprived of awards.

  • Artwork must be created by the author from beginning to end manually, without using any digital or photomechanical techniques.

  • Submitted paintings must be created not earlier than 2017.

  • Nude paintings are allowed to participate. The organizer has the right to refuse admission if the artwork can be regarded as immoral.

  • Paintings that have previously participated in offline exhibitions of NPS are not allowed. Paintings that that have won prizes or have been awarded by the Jury at previous online and offline exhibitions of NPS are not allowed.

  • Picture size: maximum on the larger side is 120 cm

 

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements may result in the artwork not being reviewed. The organizer has the right to refuse participation if the picture violates human rights or the laws of the Russian Federation. 

 

Attention! For copying other people's works, copyright infringement, or submitting paintings made under the guidance of a teacher, the participant is denied the opportunity to take part in NPS exhibitions for 1 year.

 

9. HOW TO APPLY

 

  • Decide on the number of submitted works and pay the participation fee.

  • Prepare the files according to the requirements below and fill in an electronic application form

  • Wait for the notification to your email address and check your details.

 

Please follow these instructions carefully when preparing images of paintings:

 

  • The painting must be photographed without a frame, passepartout, or foreign objects.

  • Only JPG and JPEG files are accepted.

  • The image size must be at least 1800 pixels on the larger side.

  • The files must be 300 dpi.

  • File file size is maximum 15 MB.

  • The file name must be written in Latin letters and separated by underscores or hyphens. The file name must include the author's last name, the name of the painting (without spaces, punctuation marks, or other special characters), year, and size (height x width). For example, ivanov_krasnyi-mak_2018_30х40.jpg

  • It is not allowed to use profanity in the name of the painting.

  • The diptychs are accepted as two separate paintings.

  • Triptychs are not accepted.

 

Entry deadline is 25.10.2020.

The artists will be notified of the selection results by email on 28.10.2020

The winners of the exhibition will be announced on 03.12.2020.

We are going to print a special exhibition catalogue, which will feature at least one artwork of each participant at the organizer's choice.

 

ATTENTION! If the size and density of the image in the submitted file are not observed, the selected work may be removed from the catalogue as non-compliant with the standards for printing.

6. FRAMING PAINTINGS FOR THE EXHIBITION

 

  • The use of museum glass is desirable, but not mandatory. You can use plastic instead of glass. 

  • Frames should be neutral in color and shape.

  • Passepartout for paintings has to be in shades of white, gray or black, preferably a minimum Passepartout of 1 cm

  • You can frame your painting yourself or ask for the organizer's help in the application form.

  • The cost of framing, including art glass and the frame is the following:

    • up to 50x50 cm - 2000 RUB

    • to 60x60 cm - 2400 RUB

    • to 70x70 cm - 2700 RUB

    • up to 80x80 cm - 3000 RUB

    • more than 80x80 cm – on request

NPS is not responsible for loss or damage to the picture or frame during delivery, hanging and display. The space we rent for the exhibition is secured and equipped with security cameras. The exhibition supervisor is present in the gallery during the exhibition.

7. ARTWORK DELIVERY TO THE EXHIBITION

  • You can deliver framed paintings yourself to the following address:
    Art Gallery “Exposed”, 31G Shabolovka Street, Moscow, Russia. 03.12.2020 с 9:00 до 12:00

  • In case of shipment from other cities, the paintings must be delivered by courier service to Moscow by 19.11.2020. Early delivery will ensure timely framing of unframed paintings and re-framing in case of damage during transportation. The forwarding address will be sent to the artists selected for the exhibition.

  • The picture submitted to the exhibition must match the digital image uploaded at the time of the application. Otherwise, the organizer may refuse to participate.

 

You need to pick up your artwork in person at the gallery at the end of the exhibition on 06.12.2020 from 19 to 21. You can use the services of the organizer for packaging and delivery.

 

The artist himself pays for the delivery and packaging of paintings to and from the exhibition. The artist himself also covers duties and other expenses that may arise when bringing and sending paintings from other countries.

 

9. TERMS OF SALE OF PAINTINGS 

 

  • We welcome artwork not from private collections so that we can put them up for sale. If your work is not for sale, please let us know in advance. 

  • The organizer charges a 25% commission on the sale of works.

  • Payment to the artist will be made within a month after the sale of the painting.
